Guidelins on Preparing, Practicing and Finishing a Taiji Exercise
Preparing, Practicing and Finishing a Taiji Exercise
A) Dress
· Taiji T-shirt may be purchase from the Association, otherwise a plan white T-shirt without collar is acceptable
· White plan loose long trek trousers
· Loose Kungfu costume in is worn during performance
· A spare shirt would be ideal for change after class
· A sweat towel is encouraged
· Changing room is available at the Center
B) Shoes
· Bare foot is acceptable when practicing in the Taiji Center
· A clean pair of soft black Kungfu shoes are allowed during training
· Kungfu shoes are required during performance
C) Ornaments
· Avoid large bracelet or other ornaments on the neck, waist, legs, fingers, ears or any part of the body that may injure others or yourself
· Eye glasses shall be removed if possible
· Watch shall be removed
D) Items in the Pockets
· Pocket on the shirt and trousers shall be empty
· Mobile phone etc shall be removed
E) Meal
· Avoid eating 2 hours before a Taiji session
· Light meal is ok half hour before a Taiji session
· Avoid eating a heavy meal after a Taiji session while the body is still warm
F) Drink
· Cold drink to be avoided during or after a Taiji session
· Warm plan drink in small portion is encouraged
· Avoid drinking large amount of water
G) Washing and Shower
· Do not shower while you are sweating or still feel warm
· Avoid washing hands or feet within after the exercise or while the palm or feet are still warm
H) Exposal to Wind
· Do not expose to cold air or wind after the exercise
· Change the shirt that is soaked with sweat to a fresh one
