RE: Six-step Sujing and Standard Form Taiji in 3 months
Sarawak Tai Chi Chuan and Nai Wai Dang Gong Association has assessed the achievements of the students towards the end of last year. In that assessment, more than 10 Taiji students from various grade groups have upgraded themselves and secured their achievement certificates from Professor Yek Sing Ong, who is the founder of Sing Ong Taiji (SOTC) martial art. SOTC has more than 20 training centers in New Zealand and Australia. Of late, instructors and students of SOTC from both countries have visited Kuching and exchanged experiences with their local counterparts.
Sing Ong Taiji preaches balanced development in both mind and body. Some of the course modules in Sing Ong Taiji include “6-step Su-jing”, which is aimed at relieving the tendon and muscle problems due to long sitting hours; “5-step Song-sheng”, which is intended to harmonize the physiological and psychology balance in the body, while “Standard Form Taiji” is an introductory course for Taiji. Other SOTC course modules include “Short Form Taiji”, “Taiji Push Hands”, “Long Form Taiji” etc.
In an effort to allow more people to benefit from strengthening the body and learning the martial art, Sarawak Chi Chuan and Nai Wai Dang Gong Association will start a short course on Taiji in May 2011. In this 3 month short course, students will learn the “6-step Su-jing” exercise followed by the “Standard-form Taiji”. Classes will be held every Monday and Thursday evening between 6-7 pm.
This course will be conducted at the Training Center at 49, 1stFloor, Lot 113, Lorong 5, Jalan Datuk Abdul Rahim, 93450 Kuching. Interested individuals or groups may contact Mr Liew Than Ho at 016-864-5570 for details.
